Structural and spectroscopic properties of Nd complexes with sulfonylamidophosphate type ligands.
A series of stable lanthanide complexes Na[Ln(L)4] (Ln=Nd3+, La3+) with dimethyl (4-methylphenylsulfonyl) amidophosphate, dimethyl 2-naphthylsulfonylamidophosphate and dibenzyl(phenylsulfonyl)amidophosphate (denoted in the text as 1Ln, 2Ln and 3Ln) were obtained and characterized by X-ray diffraction, IR, absorption and emission spectroscopy at 293, 77 and 4 K, respectively. The intensities of the f–f transitions for the investigated single crystals were determined and analyzed based on the Judd–Ofelt theory. The intrinsic quantum yields Phi(Nd)(Nd) of emission were calculated using luminescence decay times and Judd–Ofelt parameters. Phi(Nd)(Nd) are 1.3% for 1Nd and 3Nd, and 1.1% for 2Nd.
